Changes for Pay As You Go customers

From 1st April, prices across the energy industry will be capped to limit how much some prepayment customers pay for their energy. The cap will be reviewed by Ofgem every six months until the end of 2020. From 31st March, we’ll make sure that our energy prices for Pay As You Go customers on our Standard variable tariff are in line with or below the cap. Top up from 31 March onwards to pick up any changes to your rates.

Frequently asked questions

Q. What is a kilowatt hour (kWh)?

A: A kWh stands for kilowatt hour – the unit used to measure energy use. 1 kWh will power a 40 watt light bulb for 25 hours

Q. What is a Personal Projection?

A: Your Personal Projection is an estimate of what you’re likely to pay over the next 12 months. We work it out using the unit rate for where you live, daily standing charge, any applicable discounts and how much energy we think you’ll use in the next 12 months. It includes VAT.

Q. What happens if I change the way I pay?

A: If you move from Direct Debit to pay by Cash or Cheque, your unit rate will increase. You can see the difference between Direct Debit and Cash or Cheque rates by updating your personalised quote. We’ll always give you seven days’ notice before we change the way you pay, though. These prices are all correct as of 29th April 2016.

Q. Do I need to tell my current supplier I'm switching?

A: No - once you've given us your details and confirmed that you want to switch, we'll handle everything for you.

[1] Applicable to customers who pay by Direct Debit or Cash/Cheque. Where you have both gas and electricity with us at the same property, you'll receive one Dual Fuel discount of £15 per year (including VAT). The discount will be continuously applied to your bill throughout your billing period if you use a credit meter . If you cancel this agreement (for example by switching to another energy supplier), you will receive a Dual Fuel discount for the number of days you have been with us during that one year period.
